Dana Air flight suffered runway incursion

A Dana Air plane, registered as MD82 with the number 5N-BKI, departed from Abuja to Lagos at approximately 8:25 am on Tuesday. Unfortunately, during landing at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, the aircraft skidded off the runway. Onboard the plane were 83 passengers and 6 crew members. However, there were no injuries reported as everyone safely disembarked from the aircraft. Dana Air promptly released a statement expressing regret for the runway incursion and assuring the public of the passengers’ and crew’s safety. The airline also informed the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) about the incident. The maintenance team has grounded the aircraft for further investigation.
