Bobrisky Out Of Jail

The controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos State on Monday, following a six-month imprisonment.

A video circulating on X shows Bobrisky greeting fans who gathered to welcome him back. It is important to note that in April, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to prison for Naira abuse, without the option of a fine.

The judge emphasized that the sentence was intended to serve as a warning to others who might engage in similar misconduct. In remarks to journalists after his release, Bobrisky urged Nigerians to adhere to the laws of the nation and to show respect for the Naira.

He cautioned against the abuse of the currency to avoid imprisonment, asserting that the Naira deserves respect at all times. He stated, “It is essential to follow the rules and comply with the laws. Avoid spraying money, or you may find yourself residing in Kirikiri.

It is not solely violent crimes that can lead to incarceration; even seemingly minor actions like spraying Naira can result in serious consequences.” Bobrisky further expressed, “My focus is on the positive energy surrounding those who supported me, particularly my friends. I have no interest in discussing anyone else. I am truly thankful for my friends and loved ones.”
