Asake struggles to touch Black Stone in Mecca

Afrobeats artist Ahmed Ololade, widely recognised as Asake, has demonstrated his commitment to his spiritual life by making a recent pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, where he performed the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah, during the ongoing month of Ramadan.

One of the videos that gained significant attention on social media depicted the singer being assisted by several individuals as he endeavoured to touch the revered “Black Stone” in Mecca. Shortly thereafter, he was observed admonishing a security personnel who had pushed some fans attempting to capture photographs with him on the sacred ground.

In another video circulating online, the artist was seen deeply immersed in prayer at a holy site, surrounded by fellow worshippers. Reports also indicated that he was granted the opportunity to pray at a “special location associated with Prophet Mohammed” within the holy site.

Additional clips shared online showcased the singer attired in the traditional ihram clothing at the airport as he prepared for his sacred pilgrimage. These clips also illustrated his arrival in Saudi Arabia alongside members of his team, as he joined thousands of Muslim devotees who journey to Mecca each year to partake in the pilgrimage.

The journey has since elicited various reactions online, with numerous fans commending the artist for dedicating time from his hectic music schedule for spiritual contemplation.
