French President solicit to host ceasefire talks between Lebanon, Israel

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his willingness to facilitate discussions in Paris involving Lebanon and Israel.
In a message posted on X, Macron mentioned that he had conversations with the Lebanese president, prime minister, and parliament speaker on Friday, and they were receptive to engaging in “direct discussions with Israel.”
He urged Israel to halt its extensive military offensive and ongoing assaults, while also calling on Hezbollah to cease its “reckless escalation” of the conflict.
“Israel must take advantage of this opportunity to initiate talks and establish a ceasefire, seek a lasting resolution, and enable Lebanese authorities to fulfil their obligations in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty,” he stated.
