The family has announced the burial arrangements for Mr. Olaolu Olusina, the former Saturday News Editor of Thisday Newspapers and Editor of The Will Newspaper. As per family sources, he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Imodi, located near Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, on August 15, 2024. Mr. Olusina passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, following a prolonged illness. At the time of his death, he was also the publisher of an online publication known as Auto Report Africa.

A memorial service, referred to as the Service of Songs, will take place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of Refuge Zonal Headquarters, situated at 10 Honourable Duru Street, Beachland Estate, Arepo, Ogun State, at 4 PM on August 13, 2024. The final burial service is scheduled for 10 AM on August 15, 2024, at Saint Mathew Anglican Church in Imodi, near Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Mr. Olusina is survived by his wife and four children.

At the age of 59, Olusina was a distinguished journalist with a remarkable career. He achieved significant milestones in the field, having worked with the now-defunct National Concord Newspaper, Insider Weekly Magazine, and as a founding staff member of the renowned ThisDay Newspaper in Lagos. He also served as the Weekend Editor at the defunct Union Newspaper for many years before joining The Will Newspaper, where he held the position of Editor until this year. He was a member of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) and had recently stepped away from The Will to focus on his new venture, Auto Report Africa Online Magazine and Newspaper.

Olusina was a dedicated member of the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), a professional organization for automotive journalists. In a statement released by the Association through its Chairman, Mike Ochonma, the organization expressed its profound sorrow regarding the premature passing of Olaolu Olusina. Throughout his career, he distinguished himself as a consummate media professional, adeptly covering a variety of topics and serving as an editor for numerous publications.

He was a luminary in the field of journalism. Mike Ochonma remarked, “He was calm, kind, generous, and above all, exemplified professionalism in our journalistic endeavors. His absence will be keenly felt by all members of the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association.”
