Storm Bella winds add to flooding chaos across UK

Here we snow! -6C Arctic blast hits Britain bringing ice warnings and the threat of road and rail chaos with two more inches adding to Sunday’s flurries
A yellow warning for ice and snow is in place in Scotland, northern England, Northern Ireland and Wales
Parts of the country have already had snowfall and the warning will be in place until 6pm on Monday
The snowfall comes after Storm Bella lashed the UK with high winds and heavy rain overnight on Boxing Day
The Met Office said a gust of wind had been recorded at a speed of 106mph at the Needles on the Isle of Wight
In Cornwall, more than 100 homes were without electricity on Saturday night in the Plymouth and Truro area
Snow chaos is set to continue across much of the UK as the Met Office issued further warnings hours after Storm Bella ravaged the country with high winds and heavy rain.
Parts of the UK were already blanketed on Sunday after Bella battered regions overnight on Boxing Day as post-Christmas temperatures are expected to plunge to -6C in parts of Scotland on Monday morning.
The Met Office has now issued yellow weather warnings for ice and snow across Scotland, northern England, Northern Ireland and parts of north Wales.
The warnings came into effect at 3pm on Sunday and are due to remain in place until 6pm on Monday, with a band of rain, sleet and up to two inches of snow set to fall.
Snow and sleet is a possibility in Scotland from Sunday morning, and will move south throughout the day, bringing the risk of ice and bad driving conditions.
