What was growing up like?

I was born in Enugu, as a little child I went with my dad to Maiduguri, he was a Customs officer, so I started my Primary School in Jumata in Yola, the then Gongola State, I attended Army Command Primary School Jumata Yola, then moved to Ilorin Kwara State, where I had my secondary school education before moving to Enugu State for my tertiary education.

Do you understand a bit of the Hausa Language?

Yes I do, I speak Hausa, Yoruba and of course, I understand my dialect.

Haaaa, that is lovely you are a complete Nigerian ‘Wazobia’ you understood the three major languages.

Yes, I do, and that is fine by me.

Have you used Yoruba language to the fullest in any of your movies?

Yes, I have about four or five movies to my credit, where I acted as a Yoruba woman.

Can you give the titles of some of the movies?

I don’t keep records of them but, in ‘When Love Hurts’ I acted alongside Ayo Adesanya, it is a ROC movie.

What of the one you took up the character of a Hausa woman?

That is still in the making very soon, it will be televised on TV stations and YouTube channels.

Have you had any attacks on set?

God has been so merciful.

What about being molested by a male colleague?

No, I have never experienced that as a growing-up child and as an actor.

Do you think of becoming an actor while growing up?

I was hoping to become a lawyer, I had been dying to study Law but it didn’t work out. I ended up studying Mass Communications.

As a Mass Comm student, did you think of going into the mainstream of journalism like; writing for newspapers or do broadcast at TV stations?

I started acting before I graduated, but when I graduated and there was no job in view, I tried to go into broadcasting.

I was at Enugu NTA, I attended training there but it wasn’t synchronizing with my heart’s desires so, I had to stop it abruptly.

Which of the actors propelled your interest in becoming an actress?

Like a role model right? Hmmmm who can I say, I think it is Ucheria Anunobi, I love the way she interprets her characters; she is a fantastic actress.

Who will make the list of your first five pairs list on a movie set to produce a fantastic movie?

Do you mean actors that I can be on set with?

Preferably those you aspire to work with.

OK, hm like; RMD, Genevieve, I don’t know if she is still acting she does more productions these days, I like Rita Dominic too and a couple of them.

Can you give pieces of advice to youths going into relationships?

My advice to young boys and girls is to take it calmly, to be hard working and also to be contented; don’t search for what you don’t want if per adventure you don’t like the environment you found yourself in.

All you need to do is to work hard to move to a better environment, don’t be jealous, with prayer and hard work God will announce you onto a big stage.

Can you say something about Mohbad?

Mohbad? May his soul rest in peace. Do you know that with all the furor his death generated I just think I will wake up one day and hear a different story that he is alive, funny enough, I don’t even know who Mohbad is, until his death.

I was asking friends about him until I heard his songs again I screamed to the high heavens, haaaa! I was emotionally down. All I pray for is for God to prevail and protect the family he left behind.

What do you want Nigerians to know about you?

To be candid, I am the shy type; I am not that outspoken; not a social media person like that. When you have children around, as an actor there are limits to what you do, because you have become a role model to the children.

I want Nigerians to know me as a fantastic actress and a producer to be. A lot of us have talents but, we’ve not gotten the necessary platforms to exhibit what we have.
