Wellness Coffee, Birthday Celebration Spotlight Health and Entrepreneurship

Lingzhi Global Nigeria Limited, an indigenous wellness beverage company, has combined celebration, entrepreneurship and wellness education in a special birthday gathering held in honour of Creekvibes award-winning actress, Blessing Anthony-Ani. The event, tagged “Wellness Coffee Birthday Get-Together,” was held on August 8, 2026, at the company’s Lagos office at No. 42, Concord Way by Concord Bus Stop, off Murtala Muhammed Airport Road, Ikeja, Lagos. It was organised under the directive of the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Blessing Nanman Tangtur, for close associates and friends of the actress.
Blessing Anthony-Ani, who recently joined Lingzhi Global Nigeria Limited as a member, was welcomed by company officials and guests who gathered to mark her birthday while learning about the company’s range of wellness beverages and its business opportunities.
During the gathering, the company showcased several products, including its Reishi Lingzhi Black Coffee, Reishi Mushroom Latte and Reishi Lingzhi Green Tea. Guests were introduced to different ways the beverages can be enjoyed, including combinations with green or black tea and, in some instances, ice cream.
At the centre of the company’s presentation was Ganoderma lucidum, commonly known as reishi or lingzhi mushroom, which has a long history of use in traditional Asian medicine and is valued for its antioxidant properties and potential wellness benefits, including longevity.
Speaking during the event, a company official, Gloria Opurum, described Lingzhi Global as more than an ordinary coffee business.
“We are a coffee tea company, not just your regular chocolate coffee. We are a healthy beverage company, and our beverages are infused with a red mushroom known as Ganoderma lucidum,” she said.
Gloria explained that the company also operates a training platform where new members are introduced to its products, business model and coffee preparation techniques.
The gathering featured the company’s anthem, followed by a Wellness Tea Party Business Hangout. Guests were served chocolate coffee tea prepared by certified baristas, alongside snacks, as the company promoted its slogan: “By Africa, For Africa, Lingzhi!”

Beyond wellness products, Gloria highlighted the company’s interest in coffee farming and its potential to create employment and improve the livelihoods of farmers across Nigeria.
“Many people do not know that coffee is grown in Nigeria,” she said, noting that coffee production has a long history in Africa, with Ethiopia widely recognised for its historical association with the crop.
She further disclosed that Lingzhi Global Nigeria Limited hosted what it described as Nigeria’s maiden International Coffee Festival from August 28 to 30, 2025, at Langfield Leisure Park, Little Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State. According to her, the three-day festival attracted delegates and stakeholders from more than 30 countries.
She also announced plans for another coffee-related event in September 2026, expected to take place in Cross River State, where coffee cultivation initiatives are already being promoted.
Gloria said the indigenous coffee company was also interested in developing coffee knowledge and professional skills in Nigeria, revealing that Ethiopian officials had visited the country to receive training in coffee preparation and certification.
She added that some of the company’s collaborators had benefited from international exposure, including a trip to Turkey facilitated by Lingzhi Global.
One of the major attractions of the company’s presentation was its discussion of Ganoderma lucidum mushroom-infused coffee. Gloria explained that the products were marketed as wellness beverages rather than medicines.
She stressed the importance of understanding the distinction, particularly after some consumers reported perceived improvements in various health conditions after consuming the products.
“I told them it is wellness tea; it is not a recipe for some health challenges. I quickly show them the disclaimer,” she said.
That distinction is important because wellness beverages should not be presented as substitutes for medical treatment or as proven cures for diseases. While reishi mushroom has been studied for its antioxidant and immune-related properties, evidence for treating specific conditions remains limited, and consumers should seek qualified medical advice for health problems.
The company’s product presentation included claims and traditional wellness associations around its different beverages. Reishi Lingzhi Black Coffee was presented in connection with general cardiovascular and wellness support, while Reishi Mushroom Latte was promoted as a relaxation-oriented beverage. The Reishi Lingzhi Green Tea was highlighted for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and others.
For Lingzhi Global Nigeria Limited, however, the birthday gathering was about more than coffee. It provided an opportunity to introduce a growing community of consumers and prospective entrepreneurs to coffee culture, wellness education, agriculture and the company’s business model.
For Blessing Anthony-Ani, the celebration marked another personal milestone, but for her hosts, it also represented an opportunity to demonstrate how coffee and wellness products can become vehicles for social interaction, entrepreneurship and agricultural development.
As the event came to a close, the message from the organisers was clear: coffee is not merely a beverage; properly understood, it can form part of a wider conversation about wellness, agriculture, enterprise and Africa’s growing place in the global coffee industry.
