FCT Police: Police container burnt not Nyanya Police Division

In contrast to the circulating reports on social media regarding the Nyanya Police Division being set on fire by violent #EndBadGovernance protesters, the FCT Police Command Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, has issued a statement refuting these claims.
According to the police, it was the container compartment at the Nyanya checkpoint that was ignited, and the individuals involved were apprehended while attempting to vandalize the Tipper Garage Police post. Four suspects have been taken into custody: Mathias Jude, 29, from Nyanya Area D; Mohammad Ahmed, 23; Abba Jibril, 18; and Mohammad Haruna, 18.
The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, PSC, MNI, while recognizing the residents’ right to protest, condemned the destruction of public and police property, stating that any violent protester arrested for such actions will face legal consequences.
