Governor Douye Diri has appointed four principal officers for his administration, they are: former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Konbowei Benson, who will serve as Secretary to the State Government, Chief Benson Agadaga as Chief of Staff, Hon. Peter Pereotubo Akpe as Deputy Chief of Staff and Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo as Principal Secretary.
Recently he visited Pa E.K Clark in Abuja, he said, “He is one of the greatest heroes of the Ijaw Nation. His life has been of great service and inspiration to us all.
In the course of our service to the people of Bayelsa, we will be meeting with him from time to time, to tap from his wealth of experience and knowledge.
May God continue to bless him with good health.”
Further more while speaking to the media he said, “Victory in a political contest is not an end in itself but as a means to foster peace, stability and development in all spheres. My administration will be focused on improving the welfare of Bayelsans.”
“We recognise that there are outstanding issues from the implementation of the Restoration agenda of which I am a principal proponent and participant. As in every family, there will always be reasons to disagree. There may be those who feel that some things could have been done better or differently. As humans we are fallible.”
“I want to call every Bayelsan to put past grievances behind us. Let us appreciate that governance is a continuum and as the dynamics change, we will accommodate fresh perspectives. What is most important is that we to continue to find the reason to agree and work together for the good of Bayelsa.”
“This is why our government is extending a hand of fellowship to all stakeholders and progressive-minded individuals to join hands with us to consolidate the building of the Bayelsa of our dreams; a place we can all be proud to call home.” He concluded.
