NAGAFF’s Blessing Eugene Wins FOMI 2020

Eugene Blessing, an 18 years old S.S.C.E holder and aspiring student of University of Jos (UNIJOS), light in complexion, weighs 65kg and stands 5.12 fit tall, an indigine of Anambra state who represented the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has emerged 2020 Winner of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI), an industry pageantry designed to encourage women participation in the maritime sector.

Blessing defeated 9 other finalists to clinch the coveted and prestigious crown FOMI Crown at the Grand Finale held in Lagos recently.
As the Crowned Queen, Blessing tucked in her pouch the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000) Cash Prize, na drove home a new Lexus RX 300 Jeep, and an extra One Hundred Thousand Naira for winning also FOMI Miss Leadership Award.
The Season 5 Grand Finale of FOMI, tagged “A Night Of Beauty & Women Empowerment” was held in Honour of Hajia Lami Tumaka, a Public Relations Expert, Motivational Speaker and Former Director at NIMASA.
Meanwhile, Miss Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Timipere Christopher who emerged the 1st Runner Up and went home with the Sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (#300,000).
Miss L.T.T Coastal and Marine Services Ltd, Stella Amuba who emerged the 2nd Runner Up and went home with the Sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (200,000); while Miss Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), emerged the 3rd Runner Up and went home with the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (#150,000).
In the Award Category, Miss Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Anne Ikoghode won FOMI Best Model Award, and went home with the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (#100,000).
Whereas Miss National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Morayo Sholaja and Miss Bomorah Group of Companies, Lilian Okoro won FOMI Miss Entrepreneur and FOMI Most Talented Awards respectively and also went home with the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (#100,000) each.
Recall that the Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) is an organisation which uses role modeling and pageantry to promote gender advocacy and women empowerment in the maritime sector.
The occasion attracted so many dignitaries within and outside the maritime sector some of whom include, former Director General of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, Barr Obiageli Obi, Marine Sciences Lecturer and Associate Professor at University Of Lagos, Prof. Dr Aderonke Lawal-Are; immediate past President of WISTA Nigeria, Mrs Mary Hamman, amongst other dignitaries.
