Mary Uzorchukwu: To Act Regularly You’ve Got to Warm Beds
Up coming Nigerian actress, Chinyere Mary Uzorchukwu, an extraction from Nnewi South, Anambra State, with maternal home in Adamawa State. A young entrepreneur and a smart actress that could dislodge an actress with 10 years stage prowess.
She had traded her act in few films which includes:The Pretty Serpent, 14 Kingdoms, Huspuppi, Forgiving Heart, Daughters of Karashika, The Puzzle, Sins of Our Father, Phone Addict among others, while some are still in the making, others are already been viewed on tubes across the country.
She adores Genevieve Nnaji as her role model, as a growing child she was often cornered into taken care of house chores if promised to be given a chocolate by Genevieve.
She is a graduate of Mass Communication from Nekede Polytechnic, Owerri, her acting flare came to fore in 2017 while she was still an undergraduate, presently she is in Asaba to put in practice what she has learnt from school and during visitations to movie production scenes over the years.
Though the experience is not too rosy but for the love of acting she doggedly progresses in her chosen career. She points Flavour as her favourite music artist. She carefully took six questions from Creekvibes Oludaniels via phone call.

What are the challenges of a female upcoming actress?
If she has money she can buy her way out, or befriend a movie producer; director or a marketer. If she is exceptionally good, she can be given roles regularly and she will be projected to the top, which is all she needs.
What was growing up like?
I was born in the Northern East, at age 5, my father brought me to South East, while we were thinking of going back he fell ill and he eventually died so, my dream of going back to see my mother was shattered till date.
What funny thing did you do, while on set?
So, many funny happenstances. (laughs)
Can you share some experience.
Stage fright made me to forget my lines, the producer was like ‘What is wrong with you, is that your line?.’ I said, what line, He replied ‘Look at this idiot,’ almost throwing scripts at me. He said, ‘Do you think I’m joking here,’ I got back and started crying.
The second was me picking another person’s line.
Who is your favourite music artist?
Flavour… general laughter
What else do you think the public should know about the film industry?
The problem now is there are so many good upcoming artistes, because they can’t dangle carrots, they are not getting roles, the directors and producers kept re-using the old ones, if they continue that way, what will be the lot of the upcoming actors?
I’ve said to me self several times that Nollywood has got no future, if we keep featuring old hands while the freshers are been waved away.
Where will you be in another five years?
By God’s grace not by my power oo, I believe I will be known nationwide.
