Models are stars, not naive girls –Belema Afiesimama

A former beauty queen, Belema Afiesimama, says she wants to help young female models reach the peak of their careers. In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Afiesimama maintained that female models were not naive girls, but stars who could become brand ambassadors.
According the PUNCH’s Sunday Scoop, she spoke against the backdrop of her forthcoming beauty pageant tagged, The Face of Girl Power Africa International, she said, “My motivation for doing what I do is to promote the narrative that models are not naive girls but stars that can become brand ambassadors.”
Speaking about her previous works, Afiesimama said, “I have organised five editions of this pageant. I joined the United Nations to celebrate the International Girls’ Day from 2014 to 2019. I have also hosted pageants such as The African Girl with the mandate, and Face of Girl Power Africa International. With support from some brands, I have hosted women entrepreneurial workshops, a talent exhibition for kids, and several campaigns to empower women and end violence against the female gender.”
