Forty beauty queens from across Africa were selected out of 5000 entries and 3500 videos for the second edition of ‘Miss Curvy Africa’ reality TV show tagged, ‘Our Tradition, Our Pride’.

Speaking at the official announcement, beauty judge and former winner of Big Bold Queen, Patience Columbus, said 15 professional judges did carry out the task of auditioning and screening of the contestants in Lagos.

According to the Guardian, she listed some of the criteria for selection as body figure, poise, confidence, self-esteem, intelligence, and emotional quotations. Other criteria include African cultural heritage, intellectual soundness, and accommodating nature. Columbus disclosed that after screening the candidates, they selected the 40 who would make it to the house, which would be aired on Spice TV.
