Dino Melaye loses PDP Senatorial ticket to Tajudeen Yusuf
The former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, on Tuesday lost in his bid to return to the upper legislative chamber.
He was defeated by the lawmaker representing Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal constituency, Tajudeen Yusuf, in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election held in the district.
Yusuf polled 163 votes to brush aside competition from Melaye who scored 99.
Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji (DVAA), erudite banker-turned politician, emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District for the 2023 general election.
Adoji polled 117 to defeat Engr. Aminu Suleiman, Elder Ubolo Okpanachi and Isaac Alfa, a former Chief of Air Staff and senator, who scored 54, 43 and 20 respectively.
