MkeyVision, an entertainment company with its head office in New Jersey, United States of America and its branch office here in Lagos, Nigeria recently organised a music talent hunt show called Hit The Note in which over 700 applications were gathered across Africa.
Here in Nigeria, almost 500 applicants were screened and tested online in a strict audition process which eventually gave rise to 5 outstanding contestants.
The talent hunt show came to an end with the grand finale on April 16th, 2022 with Weynom MacDavids (WMD) emerging as the winner and going home with a N4million music deal.
The 1st runner-up was Gabriel Okoh who went home with a N2.5million music deal and the third place goes to Martha Ugwu who went home with a N1million music deal.
MkeyVision, the organisers of the talent hunt show upon noticing the harmony and unique substance carried by each of these last 5 contestants while in the academy, decided to allow the five last contestants to write on a beat given to them, their original lyrics and were given the group name, The Visioniers, a name that has come to stay as the umbrella name for all team of winners in all subsequent seasons of Hit The Note.
The Visioniers consist of these 5 talented artistes: Weynom MacDavids a.k.a WMD; Gabriel Okoh with the stage name Gabbydee; Martha Ugwu a.k.a Cecily; Odekunle Precious known as Psalmysings and Wisdom Tamarakuro known as Ckhrix.
The Visioniers have released their first team single called ‘Dangote’, a dancehall pop music which is currently shaking the airwaves. Dangote is a blend of beautiful lyrics written by these five artistes.
The acceptance ‘Dangote’ received was massive and currently, a dance challenge called #Dangotedancechallenge is ongoing with plenty of cash gifts up for grabs.
Dangote music video has also been released and the colourful video is equally doing well. These five artistes have come to change the face of the Nigerian music industry as the newest and the only musical group of artistes performing together in the country’s music bloc.
Even though these five artistes have been working together, they have started dropping their songs as a fulfilment of their winnings at the competition.
Worthy of mention is the song, Aya e lenu, a hot rich blend of beautiful lyrics written by the winner of Hit The Note Season 1, Weynon MacDavids a.k.a WMD featuring Psalmysings which will be dropping on August 28th, 2022 on all audio streaming and download platforms.
This is a highly anticipated song because since the competition ended and Dangote was released by the Visioniers, which WMD is a part of, fans have been asking for this single by WMD.
The release of the single will be followed by a video and there will be lots of interesting clips to watch out for by fans as MkeyVision is known for this.
Hit The Note, a musical talent hunt show, is an annual talent hunt show where stars are born and the next season will be announced soon.
