Sanwo-Olu, Matazu, Ighafe, Others Honoured At Creekvibes Awards
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Director General of Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof Bako Mansur Matazu and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Afegbai Albert Igbafe were some of the personalities that were honoured in the first edition of the Creekvibes Stamp of Excellence Awards.
The juries of the award, organised by Creek Multimedia, publishers of Creekvibes Magazine at Rockview Hotel, Festac, Lagos on the 27th August, 2022, had carefully selected the Nigerian icons based on the fact that, they have distinguished themselves through meritorious services to the nation and the world at large.
The event attracted very important personalities across the country, including government functionaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, members of the Armed Forces, Nollywood actors and actresses, journalists etc.
While Sanwo-Olu was decorated as the “Best Governor In Nigeria In 2022”, Prof Matazu clinched “Aviation Man of The Year 2022” while ACP Igbafe took “Most Intelligent Corp of The Year 2022” respectively.
Also honoured at the venue of the award ceremony were: HRM Olota of Ota, (Prof) Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege (Urban Philanthropist of The Year 2022) ; President, Association of Nigeria Movie Directors, Mr Kenneth Ibeanusi (Best Movie Director of The Year 2022); Zion Onyeka Nwaigwe (Best Movie Producer of The year 2022) and Ify Eze (Nollywood Light of the year 2022).
Amb Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe, CDR Adekunle Ajibade, Ngozi Okonkwo, Iyabo Ojo, Ebele Okeke, Ifeoma Ifeka Doris, Stephanie Zazi Eguji, Olaoke Olusola Victoria, Micky Vision Records, Ighalo Orphanage, ECI Marine, Comrade Bashir Saidu, Anthony Awunor, Amb Yommy Ogungbe, Catherine Eniyansoro, Peacemaker Ogbenna, and others got different categories of the prestigious award.
In his welcome speech, Convener of the awards, Olu Daniels informed the audience that Creekvibes Magazine published by Creek Multimedia has been publishing since 2019.
“We have therefore, chosen to launch the publication which is being celebrated alongside the award ceremony, to enable us celebrate outstanding Nigerian icons, personalities, leaders, role models, entrepreneurs, motivators, ambassadors etc” .
According to Olu Daniels “We had earlier rolled out our contested categories and their nominees on social media platforms; after two weeks, responses started rolling into the committee’s domain. These feedbacks were analysed and examined and those that have more entries were contacted”.
“This afternoon, we are all going to celebrate together the successes of these iconic Nigerians by presenting awards to these great men and women who have merited it through a careful and unbiased scrutiny.
“As you all know, success is an important part of life and we all aspire for it in our daily activities. However, when old-age sets in, we will reminisce on how far we have fared in life.
“To this end, Creekvibes Magazine has a testament that will be archived in the history of the print media with an editorial proof of distinction, starting from today as we celebrate first edition of Creekvibes Stamp of Excellence Awards together with the launching of Creekvibes 21st edition magazine”, Olu Daniels added.
In his goodwill message by Amb Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe, an awardee who won “Face of Humanity 2022” commended Creekvibes for their kind gesture.
“I am delighted having this prestigious award. It is an honour which I cherish so much. I commend you all for the job well done”
Another awardee, Ngozi Okonkwo who came along with her lovely husband to receive her award said “I thank Creekvibes for the award and it means so much for me to win this special award “Solidifying Family And Peace 2022”. I urge Creekvibes to continue with the good work they are doing in the society.
In his presentation at the event, Political analyst and UN Scholar, Acheoah Ofeh Augustine advised Nigerians to be peaceful and to see that the whole country is united.
In his paper, titled: “Amalgamation of 1914: The Greatest Colonial Event in British West Africa”, Acheoah warned that inter ethnic power struggles among the three major ethnic groups: Hausa-Fulani, Yoruba and Igbo has undermined national integration, political stability and unity of the country.
According to him “Until the three great ethnic groups come together and stand for Nigeria beyond partisan alliances that shaped periodic elections, the Nigeria of our dream will remain elusive”.
“These ethnic groups have the biggest role and stake in the unity of the nation, they must avoid the political mistake of our founding fathers, that is the failure to unite the nations into a nation. Amalgamation was not the mistake but the failure to unite Nigerians as one”, he said.
