Ademola Abdullahi: I am set to unite Sidophobia Fans Club home, abroad
Obesere fans club has been in existence for about 30 years, since he began his music career, his prosperous career has brought to existence fans clubs such as; Obesere fans club, Elewele Fans Club and a couple of others.
Two years ago Alhaji Abass Akande and notable people came together to unify all the fans clubs and give them a unique identity, and that gathering succeeded in bringing forth ‘Sidophobia’ as a name for all Alhaji Abass Akande fans; t was a unification that brought everyone under one umbrella under the auspices of Agbaakin himself.
All Obesere fans now identify themselves with Sidophobia Fans Club under different chapters, at home and abroad.
Caretaker committees are controlling the affairs of the club in different zones and states, so an election that brought Ademola Abdullahi to the front burner as the President of the Sidophobia Fans Club took place on the 30th of October, 2022.
Creekvibes Oluwadamilare Daniels had a short interview with the current president. Excerpts;
Can you introduce yourself, sir?
My name is Alhaji Ademola Abdullahi, I am a Canad-based businessman, an indigene of Osun State but born and bred in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Your educational background?
Attended Government College Ikorodu, and I read Business Administration at the prestigious University of Ilorin, I graduated in 1992.
Who is the first president of the Sidophobia Fans Club?
Alhaji Ademola Abdullahi.
What are the procedures to join the Fans Club?
It depends on the person’s location, we have our executives all over the country, for a prospective member he or she should just ask for the nearest chapter and obtain our form with a token.
As a member of the Fans Club, what are the benefits?
There is an adage that says if you’ve got no group on earth you won’t have in heaven, it is delightful for you as a person to have an upcoming event and realised that friends and family are willing, and craving to celebrate with you.
For instance, if you have an upcoming housewarming event and you want the presences of Agbaakin which is not cheap to come by but for the fact that you are a bonafide member, you must be a benefactor of the dividends and concessions available for members.
One of my agendas as the president of this bubbling fans club is to unite Sidophobia Fans at home and abroad so that every group come under one constitution whereby if there is a celebration in Canada for instance Nigeria eligible members through our travelling agency can secure visas and come to celebrate with us in Ontario and vice versa.
I am grateful to have credible and educated members with a meaningful source of income within the fans club.
I and exco members are about to introduce a Multipurpose Cooperative Society to the benefit of our members.
Is the Sidophobia Fans Club registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission?
Before I came on board as the President, we had a caretaker committee but now we’ve started the process to secure our certificate under this new exco.
What do you think Nigerians should know about Sidophobia?
As far as, I am concerned the Sidophobia club of yesterday is different from what we have today, we will soon embark on a tour around Nigeria to empower all chapters and also our aim is to make our fans club attractive to outsiders by enumerating the benefits of being a member to them.
Soon I and some executive members will go on a foreign tour to unite the fans club in London, the US, Canada and other parts of Europe.
