(Video) Jessy Nuel: I once hustle at the mortuary to survive

Nollywood fast-rising actress, Ibeabuchi Jessica Ozioma, otherwise known as Jessy Nuel is a native of Umueze in Umuchukwu town under Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Apart from stepping into fictitious characters handed down by scriptwriters, the 200 Level Biochemists undergraduate student of Imo State University is also a fit bodyguard. Her acting skills came to the fore while she was in secondary school.
The beautiful actress will be 27 years old on April 28th, 2023. She was once a morgue attendant, although she was given birth to in the Northern part of Nigeria unfortunately, the demise of her father when she was 7 years old brought her back to Anambra State.
The death of her beloved father strengthens her, and in no time, while still in school she had picked up several menial jobs such as; loading stones, and working as a bus conductor, to mention a few just to assist her mother and siblings.

The smart thespian who speaks Igbo; a little bit of Hausa, and the Yoruba languages took a few questions from CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS. Excerpts;
Can you tell us about the mortuary thing?
We were just the pretty crier, but we make sure the mortuary surroundings were clean, not really working inside o.
Not that you resumed cleaning up the corpse?
No o, but we were called an all-rounder.
Have you cleaned a corpse before?
Yes.
What was it like; were you not scared?
Nope.
Are you that stone-hearted?
Not that I am stone-hearted, but the situations that I’ve passed through have made me to be strong. I have passed through a lot, as at then, I was not even up to a teenager.
What are the situations that made you think, you have passed through a lot?
You know what? When I started to do what people that are old enough to be my parents couldn’t do, at that point, I gave myself a pass-mark, for instance, I started riding a motorcycle; hustling at the mogul and going to load stones even at night in order to earn for my family.
Can you tell us about your educational background?
After my primary school in my home town, I attended three secondary schools, namely; Community Girl Secondary School, Aba, Model Secondary School, Umunze and Calvary Comprehensive Secondary School, Umunze, and I am a Biochemistry student as we speak.
Apart from the Hausa, and Igbo languages which other language do you understand?
I understand a little bit of the Yoruba language.
As an actress how many years have you put in?
I started in 2017, which should be about six years now.
What are your plans for 2023?
My prayer is for my destiny helper to locate me quickly, so I can start to achieve my purpose in life.
But sometimes, it is also necessary for one to set goals.
I am sorry to disappoint you. I am not that type, I have done a whole lot of that, but it failed.
I only try my best and allow my maker to do the rest.
As a very courageous lady, what are the qualities you look out for in choosing a life partner?
He has to be calm, because I am a bit hot, he should be understanding, he shouldn’t be jealous of my achievement, and if I am been criticized, he should stick to me, because the way I want to live my life now, I don’t want to please anybody, I have done that in the past, it didn’t augur well.
Can you give a piece of advice on the sex before marriage practice?

Truth be told, let’s forget about the borrowed culture; I can’t buy food that I did not taste.
While growing up as a little girl, has anyone taken advantage of you?
Yeah, while growing-up my cousin-brother had wanted to take advantage of me, but it didn’t work. It was when I grew up, that I discovered that all he was doing then was trying to take advantage of me.
Was he living with you guys?
When my dad died, we went to the village so we were living in the same compound.
How did he make his advances?
He takes me out to watch movies, and he will always want me to sit on his lap, he will then start to make some sinister moves like; running his hand through my chest and pieces of stuff like that.
So was there no penetration?
Not at all.
Were you also protective of your sister?
Yes.
Have you ever encountered any trouble?
Haaa! Ha!, that should be when I wanted to travel out of the country, and I was duped, and the culprit ended up so badly because the money he took from me was so painful.
What are the most important lessons you have learned?
You have to be strong, believe you can do it by yourself, and for yourself, and never rely on promises. Move out of your comfort zone, don’t fear anybody but respect people.
Message to your followers?
I love them so much, I do post shit sometimes (laughers) but my fans will always say; in every nonsense, there is sense. Remove the non and you will have sense left. (laughs)

I am 26 years old.
When were you deflowered?

Six years ago.
Why did you do it then; were you thinking of getting married to him?
Not really; I did it because it was about time I do it.
What is your kind of music?
Late Brenda Fassie.
Sometime before stepping onto the acting scenes, do you take a bottle of beer or something?
Yeah, I like to feel a bit high before I step in.
Does it help your performance?
Not that it helps my performance, ok? Because I can still act without it.
It makes me to concentrate more.
