Rapists of pregnant woman await March 22nd judgment day
Two rapists who allegedly ganged raped a woman are currently pleading guilty before an area court in Abuja.
Two rapists were said to be cattle herders and identified as Nuru Tukur, 21, and Yusufa Haruna.
The Prosecutor, Dabo Yakubu, told the court that the defendants, Nuru Tukur, 21, and Yusufa Haruna, ganged raped a heavily pregnant woman on 29 February 25, it was gathered that the 8 months pregnant woman was abducted from her home in Abaji Area Council of the FCT, took her to a bush and gang-raped her.
One Abubakar Wakili of Yaba in Abaji Area Council reported the matter at the Gwagwalada Area Command office on February 26.
The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, deferred sentencing in order for him to see and know the condition of the victim.
He however ordered that they be remanded in a correctional center pending sentencing on March 22.
