Before Anthony Joshua started Saturday’s heavyweight fight against Jermaine Franklin at London’s O2 Arena, a knock-out was the odds most bettors were putting their odds on. But as the fight progressed, Franklin proved he was there to prove himself against one of the best heavyweight fighters of the last decade. Even though Joshua did land some significant punches, especially in the 10th round. Franklin was able to hold his stance and got through all 12 rounds. In the cards, judges decided in Joshua’s favor unanimously. It was a great showing from the Brit and a valiant attempt from Franklin, who was a long way from home.
Joshua calls out Tyson Fury
After the decision announcement was made, Anthony Joshua didn’t go into a monologue like last time but he did let the fans scream Tyson Fury’s name. This happened when the interviewer asked him who he wanted to fight next. AJ reminded Fury that none of them is getting any younger, he obviously wants this fight to happen and he even offered a possible date. With Eddie Hearn right next to him, Joshua vowed to return during the summer in order to make his next time happen. Despite calling Tyson Fury out, Anthony Joshua also has Dillian Whyte and Deontay Wilder as possible next choices.
