Rotimi Amaechi loses mother

Rotimi Amaechi, the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the upcoming 2027 general elections, has lost his mother.

Mrs. Ezinne Mary Amaechi passed away at the age of 89. A statement released by Amaechi’s Media Office on Thursday confirmed that the matriarch died peacefully on that day. A family source revealed that the deceased was greatly admired both within her community and beyond for her compassion, generosity, and steadfast support for others.

“She was cherished and held in high regard in her community, and she will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her and beyond,” the statement further noted.

Condolences have been flooding in for the former Minister of Transportation, Amaechi. Among the dignitaries expressing their solidarity are Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, President Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike, and Atiku Abubakar, all of whom have conveyed their heartfelt condolences and deep sympathy to the former governor.
