Business Times unveils 2026 Awards to honour Nigeria’s business leaders, celebrate innovation
Business Times has announced plans for the 2026 edition of its annual awards, setting the stage for a celebration of outstanding organisations, business leaders and innovators whose contributions continue to shape Nigeria’s economic landscape.
The Business Times Awards 2026 will hold on Thursday, August 20, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, bringing together leading figures from the public and private sectors, including captains of industry, policymakers, investors, development partners and top business executives.
This year’s event is themed “Leading the Future: Excellence in Innovation and Impact,” reflecting a focus on recognising organisations and individuals redefining business success through innovation, leadership and measurable contributions to national development.
According to the organisers, more than 100 award categories have been created to acknowledge excellence across strategic sectors of the economy, including banking, finance, energy, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology, healthcare, agriculture, education, real estate, aviation, maritime, insurance, infrastructure, hospitality, public service and the capital market.
The awards will recognise organisations that have distinguished themselves through innovative solutions, technology adoption, creative business models and initiatives that have raised industry standards.
They will also honour business leaders whose strategic vision, ethical leadership and commitment to inclusiveness have fostered growth, inspired innovation and strengthened organisational performance.
In addition, the awards will celebrate companies that have demonstrated resilience in challenging economic conditions while maintaining operational excellence, delivering sustainable growth and creating long-term value for stakeholders.
Particular emphasis will be placed on institutions that have made significant contributions through job creation, economic development, responsible business practices, community engagement and sound corporate governance.
