Nigerian music star Teni has jokingly expressed concern over her colleague Burna Boy after a video of the Grammy-winning singer taking a daring ocean stunt went viral.
Reacting to the footage, Teni questioned Burna Boy’s decision to engage in what she described as “rough play,” joking that he should consider the risks involved—especially because the two artistes are yet to record a song together.
In a humorous video reaction, Teni said: “Burna Boy, baba, I go change am for you o. Wetin be the meaning of this rough play wey you go dey play for inside river, for inside ocean?”
The singer then imagined a frightening scenario in which Burna Boy could have been attacked by a shark while in the water.
“Wetin be this? When you know say me and you never do song. Baba, imagine say you jump inside this water now, one big shark swallow you. Wetin go do me and you song?” she joked.
While her comments were clearly made in jest, Teni’s reaction also highlighted the potential dangers associated with adventurous ocean stunts, particularly when powerful marine animals and unpredictable water conditions are involved.
She concluded her playful warning by urging Burna Boy to stop taking unnecessary risks, while affectionately describing him as a “national treasure.”
