Amarachukwu Anabaranze, Second Runner-up MSN, A model/actress with Liquorose’s voice

… I calm myself in the face of tension

 

Second Runner-up Miss Security Nigeria, Amarachukwu Anabaranze, an indigene of Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, maternally from Ideato North Local Government Area of the same state.

She attended Brother Pius Nursery & Primary School, Benin City, and proceeded to Presentation National High School, Ugbekun Benin City in Edo State, she is a graduate of Business Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) Avan campus, Owerri.

She did her mandatory ‘under the sun, under the rain’ Youth Service at the National Lottery Fund, Abuja in 2018.

While in the University she was introduced to an entertainment group called ‘Cock Sure Entertainment Group,’ that was when she realised she could pursue a career in acting, and zeal for auditions crept in while she was in year two.

She almost got dissuaded when she meet with a producer that told her, ‘It won’t be easy for you to build a career in acting while you are still in the tertiary institution because as an actress you ought to be mobile; on the move, and be available for roles.’ She kept the advice in her pouch-culler and tightened the belt of her studies, to God be the glory she came out with good grades.

Amara acting prowess started gaining momentum while she was in high school, she got lead roles in her school theater group, later the school authorities discovered the eloquence in her voice and she became the voice of the school’s public address system.

She had traded her intellect with a real estate firm in Benin City, where she was able to roll some coins into her saving before Lagos beckoned on her, and she grabbed the opportunity to boost her career.

Her debut appearance in pageantry was at the Security Nigeria beauty pageant,

 it was the maiden edition of the beauty pageant on security and she came, 2nd runner-up.

The organisers of the beauty pageant camped the trainable models that had already scaled through the audition process for a week, 14 people were on location while some could not make it after audition, Amara has she is fondly called got the crown of 2nd runner-up, she was awarded the most ‘Improved’ and also got a cheque to commemorate her exemplary performance.

The ‘Shadow in the Dark, and Crushed’ actress took some questions from Creekvibes OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS.

Excerpts;

How was your first acting role like?

I was a corp member; I acted with Rachael Okonkwo and it was ok.

Do you take alcohol to handle anxiety or tension?

Alcohol! Not at all, when the tension comes, all I do is to calm myself with breathing in and out, sometimes speaking with myself affirmatively from the inside.

As an upcoming actress, what are your aspirations?

I am aspiring to be recognised in the industry, hoping to become a producer and a director someday because I admire directing movies.  But for now, I still admire the camera spotlight on me.

How do you cope with modeling side by side with your growing movie career?

I’ve got the voice, smile, and all it takes to be successful in both careers all I need now is leverage.

Have you been contacted to model for any product?

Not yet, am open to discussion.

Do you have plans to be in any Tv reality show?

Yes, soon.

Which one of them is on your mind?

Laughs, Big Brother Naija, I’m looking up to it, to boost my career.

How old are you?

25 years old.

Are you in a relationship, and when will your wedding bell toll?

Yes, I am in a relationship but, for a wedding, not any time soon, I want marriage to come when I’ve attained a particular height in my career.

What do you think Nigerians should know about you?

I want Nigerians to know that I am a black strong woman that loves acting as a passion and as a profession; they should also know that not everyone in the industry will become successful.

I need Nigerians support because, a lot of things are been done to get known, but I am among the graced and blessed ones, I am an embodiment of God’s grace so they should look out for me and my shine.

Who is your role model in the movie industry?

Chioma Chukwuka Apotta and Mercy Johnson Okogie.

Who is your favourite director or producer?

I like Biodun Stephen a lot.
