ACP Igbafe Afegbai…the transformer: First Nigerian Police Officer Instructor In United Nation Peace Keeping Mission, Kosovo

Assistant Commissioner of Police Afegbai Albert Igbafe the Area Commander, Area ‘E’ Police Command Headquarters Festac, assumed his new duty substantively on the 4th of October 2021.
ACP Igbafe is by all standards an embodiment of all Police Departments in one, this is why his results in all given assignments has not only validated his dexterity as an intelligent officer, but has also repositioned the Nigerian Police Force to deliver the primary roles of the Police in our society: Maintenance of Law and Order.
ACP Igbafe has successfully built an additional five offices, a hall and a mosque laced with air conditioners; renovated the existing church to its present status, he did not relent in his effort to make things look better, he went further by changing the face of the charge room, admin office including his office.
Area ‘E’ Command Festac was given a new befitting look six months after the arrival of ACP Igbafe.
ACP Igbafe’s Special area of the Police profession covers investigations and intelligent gathering which also underpins his success in all previous units, assignments and capacities he has functioned as a police officer.
The testaments of his experience, performance, results, administration and his management are formidable, added to his foundational training in policing, he has attended various national and international courses in investigations of Cybercrime, Fraud; Terrorism, and a slew of criminal and corrupt practices in revered countries such as Botswana, UAE (Dubai) and the USA (FBI).
It is on record, that ACP Igbafe is the first Nigerian police officer instructor in the United Nations Peace-Keeping Mission in Kosovo; a feat that bestowed bot
h national and international accolades on him. Also worthy of note, his performance in the aforementioned assignments were exceptional and a point of reference to this day.
He has below his belt, the rare privilege of opening two police squadrons in Nigeria: squadrons 56 PMF Sakpenwa, Ogoni, Rivers State, and Special Protection Unit base #3(SPU) in Yola, Adamawa State.
He served in the Federal Inland Revenue Service as the second in command at Intelligence, investigation and enforcement unit. He investigated very high-profile cases while discharging his duties there, and his efforts played integral roles in some of the record-breaking returns in revenue recorded by the current administration. His qualification started with a BSc in sociology from Edo State University Ekpoma, PGD. Criminology and Security Studies from National Open University with countless professional qualifications, training, and work experiences both in and outside the shores.
ACP Igbafe is a member of the International Association of Chief of Police (IACP), he has never had any regrettable moment in his chosen career, while growing up as a child, he had wanted to be a lawyer just like his classmate Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Festus Keyamo (SAN) but his father saw his human nature, and noticed his style of getting results including God given wisdom and eulogized him to be a good police officer.
When the opportunity of joining the NPF came he grabbed it and took the bold step to change the negative narratives about the Nigerian Police Force, and ever since he mounted the Tiger’s back he has been winning.
From observation we discovered that ACP Igbafe has completely changed the entire looks of the Area ‘E’ Command in Festac with the wave of his magic wand, passing through the road in front of the police station, we discovered that the bad portions on the road that was once not motor able has been asphalted with the help of the ACP and this action has made the commuters and drivers plying the root to shower encomium on the ACP calling him ‘A Transformer.’
We learnt that he wishes criminals to come out to the society a better person with the aid of a standardize correctional centres, his expectation about youths aspiring to become police officers is for them to have the ability to serve; save and protect humanity, the police force should not be seen as a venture for frustrated persons to go in and make cheap money, wishes are not horses… ACP Igbafe must have gone through several rigorous trainings; obeying instructions and following orders to attain his present position, his status did not come on a silver platter.
We gathered that the ACP believes in nation building and wants Nigerians home and abroad to salvage this country with a positive mindset, there will be no reasons to bow to servitude in Europe.
From a reliable source Creekvibes magazine heard that the ACP had a life-threatening attack while serving as a unit commander in Amichi in Nnewi South, he was called upon for backup so, he took some of his men in move to assist fellow trapped police officer, but unfortunately they drove into an ambush, the rubbers opened fire on them, some of his lieutenants died, and some got injured but by the grace of God that he serves, he triumphed while other police officers were watching from afar, he had a similar experience in Warri, but Grace showed up.
From testimonies reaching us we obtained that the ACP dislike putting people behind bars, he always create a soft landing for people who found themselves in police custody.
We learnt that the ACP love watching movies and reading books at his leisure; goes to gym regularly and ensure his mental alertness is 100 per cent intact, he is happily married with amazing children.
Creekvibes also found that the police in Amuwo Odofin area need more manpower; teargas and more patrol vans to be more efficient but in the absent of all these, the officer are seen gallantly discharging their duties to the best of their abilities to cover up lapses.
