Olumide Orogunle: Politicians like coordinated people…
Olumide Orogunle, the coordinator of Sidophobia Fans Club Alimosho Chapter, attended King of Kings Nursery School, Otubo Agege for his primary school education. He attended St Andrews Iyana Ipaja, and Abesan High Schools, Alimosho he brilliantly soared to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State after he had undergone the rigorous book-drilling within the four walls of the Ojere citadel of learning he proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic and caped it up with a B.Sc in Banking and Finance at the prestigious University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to him, Sidophobia Fans Club Alimosho started with God and with the strength of a mortal in the person of Olumide Orogunle James, when were little boys my love for Alhaji Obesere’s songs knows no bound. I had wanted to do something but then, I wasn’t capable. Olumide Orogunle entertained some questions from Oluwadamilare Daniels. Excerpts;
What is the strength of Sidophobia Fans Club Alimosho?
We have done several empowerment programs that have put our name on respectable lips within the Alimosho Local Government Area, we’ve done a talent hunt where we discovered a quite number of talented footballers. We organised programmes for widows and free medical care, and we shared books for school children, we are not sentimental, while our principal Agbaakin Bobagunwa of Yoruba Land, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere was with PDP, it did not affect our relationship, some of our members are in LP and APGA it still does not affect how we relate with one another.
You know in politics once they noticed you are up to 50 and above 100 they approach you, politicians like coordinated people and we are coordinated so in all six LCDAs in Alimosho we are known.
We were getting along, it did not affect how we interact with the six LCDAs in Alimosho Local Government. The fact remains that the Alimosho Sidophobia Fans Club remains the numero uno at home and abroad.
Our reasons are not far-fetched we don’t miss coming together and never missed our yearly anniversary today November 6th 2023 we are celebrating the 16th anniversary as a fans club; we have come a long way.
While COVID was changing the World order, under stringent circumstances we still celebrated our yearly anniversary.
Who are the backbones or financiers of this Fans Club?
What we most mostly are coming together with our contributions that have grown immensely but I am not undermining the fact that we have matrons and patrons.
Like when Alhaji Abass said, ‘If I cook for you all, you guys will eat but if all of you cook for me, I won’t be able to eat it.’
It was a proverb to strengthen our chapter, it means that if we all come together with our stipends it will go a long way in putting smiles on people’s faces.
But if we are waiting for him to come and solve our financial problems it may take ages but if it is for support and contacts, Alhaji Abass helps with a lot of contacts within and outside the shores of this country.
There was a guy that came for assistance, he actually had a Kidney problem, so we informed our principal, he make some calls and in a short period of time, the guy got helped, he is still alive as we speak.
A lot of benefits are open to members. Some of our members got helped outside the country with the name of Sidophobia Fans Club, even while trying to secure Visas Sidophobia members are on the ground.
