Glory to God Almighty The World International Day for Drug Addiction And Abuse with the theme BREAKING THE CHAINS: PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND RECOVERY FOR ALL have come and gone. It was marked all over the United Nations and here in Lagos, Meljenstin Buzopat Youth Empowerment Initiative NGO and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Festac Command had a fantastic and impactful event
SAY NO TO DRUG ADDICTION AND ABUSE YOUTH CONFERENCE AT ROCKVIEW HOTEL FESTAC, This conference has been ongoing for 9 years by Buzopat who as a passionate advocate have dedicated her Meljenstin NGO to raising awareness on so many social vices especially the terrible and devastating impact of substance abuse on individuals, families and communities which is on an alarming increase now.

The day started with the NDLEA Festac Command Abdul Maiyaki leading an awareness walk from 2nd Rainbow to Rockview hotel the venue of the conference with Pharmaceutical community Association, Road safety men, Nysc corpers and other stakeholders.
Students from Dr Soyemi school were the first to arrive, followed by Radiance school, Basic Innovation school, Paraclete school, New fountain school, No Limits school, Foresight school, St Jude school, Kabe school, Green Hill school, MJ Montessori school amongst Parents and other guests. The hall was jammed and filled with people hungry for knowledge .
The convener Hon. Amb Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe Buzopat were given a standing ovation for a job well-done, The MC Pato emotional explained to people what Buzopat goes through without funding to change destinies of people without tiring when introducing her, Hon. Amb Buzopat told the youths present that they occupy a delicate and sensitive position within the population structure and encouraged them to refuse to allow anyone destroy their destinies by influencing them negatively.
The NDLEA Area commander Festac Command told the filled hall that drug addiction and abuse is one of the pervasive problems that has turned communities into war zones with insecurities at its peak. He assured them of a better tomorrow without drugs.

Mrs Ngozi Okonkwo in her charismatic way educated them on how to reverse the drug drift, gave them goosebumps instances . Pharm. Sylvester Ugbala spoke on the Dangers of drug addiction and abuse and reminded them that there’s a thing line between sanity and insanity.
NDLEA Afenfia Ebia Imoke took them on war against drug addiction (WADA) she said that this war must be taken to homes, communities, churches, market place especially schools for results to be seen.
Hon. Sally Mbaso Robert spoke about Emotional intelligence and educated the audience on self awareness and the need to know when to say an emphatically no.. Mr Fakrogha Charles Oyinmiebi took the audience through how to manage people on drugs and it health implications which involves Compassionate approach, professional help, support groups like Buzopat is doing
NDLEA 2iC Adejumo Gbenga Ayo spoke on Effective withdrawal from circle of addicts, he highlighted that drug is not a respecter of anyone.

Barr. Amaka Mbaso opened the audience eyes on the close relationship between gambling and drugs, she encouraged them to stay away from both.
More speakers like the Road safety commander and the leader of the corpers really made the day a fantastic and memorable one.
Artist RealOne Rilwan didn’t disappoint at all, he introduced the chrome dance with a song on Buzopat, Meljenstin and no to drug and the students showed that they cannot be taken unawares, they matched his vibe with graceful steps.
No limit school did a fantastic drama on drugs and the whole message was apt, on point and an indication that our youths are understanding the power of negative influence.
A student from St Jude’s Private Schools OHANA FAVOUR had an impressive presentation on DRUGS ADDICTION and it was wow.

As always there was no federal, state or even local government financial support, there was no foreign aide or grant, no corporate company or corporate individual support either but I am saying special thanks to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Festac Command for storming the venue and showing you are all out to war against drug addiction, Mr Godfrey Ugochukwu Ukaegbu& Rockview Hotel, it’s been a beautiful long journey, my husband and support system Barr&Engr Fidel Osigwe, my brother Hon. Owelle Onyeka Mbaso, my brother in-law Engr Eric Okere, my brothers by choice Mr Manish S. Kumar and Mr Sabir khan thank you all, I am grateful to my sisters Hon Sally Okere and Barr Amaka Imma. Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria thank you for providing the snacks, medical products and for members presence in the conference.
