Xsquad Rocks Airwaves with K1 De Ultimate Collabo

The Lagos music scene is currently buzzing with the rise of Xsquad, a dynamic duo redefining the soundscape with a fusion of street-pop and Fuji influences. DANIEL EKIYE reports
Spearheaded two fast-rising artists popularly known as James and John, the group is steadily gaining traction as a go-to act for high-energy performances and contemporary indigenous sound.
John Onajobi, a native of Ijebu Waterside in Ogun State, teams up with James Audu from Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State to form a partnership built on synergy, cultural diversity, and over a decade of shared musical experience.
Xsquad has worked alongside several notable industry players, including Terry G, 2T Upon The Beat, Indomix, Mr. Clever, and Portable, among others. These collaborations have helped shape their evolving sound and broaden their reach within Nigeria’s competitive music industry.

Their latest single, “Malo Sunle,” currently streaming across major digital platforms, underscores their growing influence and ambition to dominate both local and international stages.
However, it is their fan-favourite track “Jaye,” featuring the legendary K1 De Ultimate, that continues to resonate deeply with listeners, delivering a rich blend of rhythm and cultural nostalgia.
Renowned for their energetic delivery and relatable lyrics, Xsquad has built a reputation with tracks such as “Won Tilo,” “Hate Nobody,” and “Love Your Neighbour As Yourself.”
Their music catalogue reflects a consistent effort to merge traditional Fuji elements with modern street vibes, positioning them as a formidable force in Nigeria’s evolving music landscape.
With growing popularity and a distinct sonic identity, Xsquad appears well on course to becoming a household name in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
