Buzopat Launches Eighth Book on Drug Abuse Awareness in Lagos
LAGOS, Nigeria — Youth advocate and author, Iconic Honourable Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe, popularly known as Buzopat, has successfully launched her eighth book, The Silent Trap: Beyond the High — What Drugs Does, with a renewed call for greater awareness and education about the dangers of drug abuse.
The book launch was held on September 12, 2026, at Rockview Hotel, 23rd Road, Festac Town, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos.
A Call for Early Drug Awareness
Speaking on the importance of drug education and prevention, Buzopat urged members of the public not to wait until drug abuse becomes a personal or family problem before seeking information.
According to her, awareness and education could play a critical role in preventing young people from falling into drug abuse.
“Don’t wait for a drug problem before you buy a drug awareness book,” she said.
She further stressed that a single book, conversation or informed decision could have a life-changing impact.
“For the records, one book, one conversation and one informed decision could make a great difference between a life lost and a life saved,” she added.
Gratitude for a Successful Book Launch
The President and Founder of the Meljenstin Youth Empowerment Initiative NGO expressed gratitude to God for the successful launch of her latest publication.
“First and foremost, I give all glory, honour and adoration to Almighty God for the grace and blessings that made the launch of my eighth book, The Silent Trap: Beyond the High — What Drugs Does, a remarkable success,” she said.
Appreciation to NDLEA and Distinguished Guests
Buzopat also expressed appreciation to officials and stakeholders who supported the book launch and contributed to its success.

The author noted that purchasing the book goes beyond supporting her work as a writer, describing every copy purchased as a contribution towards raising awareness about drug abuse.
“To everyone who travelled, made out time, attended the ceremony, celebrated with me, purchased copies of the book, encouraged others to get copies or supported the vision in any way, thank you,” she said.
“Your support means so much to me. Every copy purchased is a contribution towards creating greater awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and helping families and young people make better decisions.”

Strengthening the Fight Against Drug Abuse
The launch of The Silent Trap: Beyond the High — What Drugs Does marks another milestone in Buzopat’s literary and social advocacy journey.
Through the book, the youth empowerment advocate hopes to encourage conversations about drug abuse, educate young people and families about its dangers, and promote informed decisions that could help save lives.
With the growing concern over substance abuse among young people, the author maintained that prevention must begin with knowledge, awareness and open conversations.
As she continues her advocacy through literature and youth empowerment initiatives, Buzopat’s message remains clear: one book, one conversation and one informed decision could make the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
