In a media chat with the Chairman and Founder of the Touch of Valentine Foundation, Dr Valentine Mbamalu said, “In addition to two necessities of life, food and shelter, education and skill acquisition are very important in Nigeria today, especially among the youths, to save the country from insecurity, knowing that an idle man is a devil’s workshop.
You can see the rate of drug abuse among our youths in society. So, these provisions must be channelled to the less privileged, widows, and to engage the youth to become self-reliant.
According to Mbamalu, “The foundation has taken it upon itself to build 1000 houses for the widows and the less privileged in the next ten years. Today, many of them now have shelter over their heads and children”.
“Also, considering the importance of education in society, the foundation, in the past few years, has given out scholarships to more than 150 students, which include primary, secondary and university students.
Our target is to eradicate poverty in rural areas of the Nigerian society”.
Continuing, Mbamalu said, “This is another way of promoting humanitarian activities in the society, and contributing our quota to nation building. It is part of our mission statement to put smiles on the faces of people, and also contribute positively to our environment.
This is a means for our country to move forward, knowing that the government alone cannot provide all the needs of the citizens.
