Abandoned Baby Gets New Mother

Creekvibes around Ekeki discovered how an Akwa Ibom Lady called Peace abandoned her baby boy of 3 month-old for Gloria David, a resident in Ekeki, a suburb in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Excerpts:
What is the name of the woman that dumped your baby boy for you?
Her name is Peace from Akwa Ibom her husband is an is an Ijaw-man from Orua his name, I can’t remember but a serving Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corpse (NSCDC) member.
How did it happen?
One evening, I got home and saw my son carrying a baby boy, I looked at the child and I could re-collect who he was. Peace was a neighbour in my former resident, so I thought perhaps she will soon be back, I didn’t even know how she got to know my new resident.
She told my son that she will not be long, I waited throughout the night, I didn’t see her.
The next day, the baby cried and cried in a protesting manner to see his mother but to no avail. It got to a stage he stopped crying and started cooperating with me.
How old is the baby?
He is now seven month and half.
At what age did his mother dropped him?
Five months.
She came back after a month so, I asked her ‘why she did that’ She couldn’t give cogent reasons, she said her husband was shot while on duty and she is not well taken care of, I scolded her, the funny part of the story was while she was around that day, her son no longer recognises her.
Does the child now see you like his mother?
Yes, he does.
Did you report this issue to the police?
Yes, I reported at Ekeki Police Station the next day.
When Peace was around, did she discuss maybe she will want to take her child back?
No, she came and disappeared again, I collected her husband’s number and tried to reach him but to no avail.
Earlier, the police have instructed me not to release the child to either Peace or her husband a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corpse (NSCDC) staff unless they show up at the police station.
