DOSU JOSEPH: We Are all Footballers in my Family

Every sportsperson, just like other people in diverse professions are always driven by their ambitions to succeed in their various walks of life and Dosu Joseph, a former Super Eagles star is not different and in a chat with CREEKVIBES, he revealed that all his siblings are into football in one way or the other.
He also said that despite having been involved in an accident that almost took his life, the former Regianna star, who has gone on to take charge of his affairs with a determined mindset with success shares some of his experiences, especially the accident and its aftermaths which made him miss the Eagles party to France 1998 World Cup with Williams.
Dosu , the gangling goalkeeper of the Under-23 team Eagles, captained by Nwankwo Kanu who inspired a new generation African footballers to stand up and be proud sons of the continent, who by their feat, won the gold medal in the football event at Atlanta in 1996.
The former Julius Berger goalkeeper told CREEKVIDEBES that he came from a footballing family as six of his brothers are into football. He said that his elder brother Deji Dosu, was a youth football player for the nation. He also revealed to CREEKVIDEBES that his brother was spotted by the Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria and he was also playing for Kano based side, Racca Rovers.
“I came from a footballing family. My parents had six of us, boys. We all went into football and the amazing thing this, we were all goalkeepers in my family. Deji, my brother had played for Nigeria at the youth level. In fact, he travelled with the YSFON team to Brazil for a tournament. My elder brother too was once a footballer but academics made him leave the sport but we are happy and proud that today, he’s now a professor, Dosu said.
The former Olympian said that he came from a home where everyone had to stand up on their feet as there were not born with a silver spoon. He said that despite that, determination, good parenting and God, the almighty directed their steps towards bringing honour to their family name through football.
The former Adewale Bridge Boys star also revealed to CREEKVIBES that one of his brothers, John Dosu is a goalkeeper trainer with the Mountain of Fire Football Club of Lagos.
