LOCKDOWN Imminent: Nigeria records highest daily COVID-19 deaths in 7 months

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has continued to record a spike in the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus across states in the country. The agency from its tweet announced that the number of new infections for Friday, January 29, from 22 states, including the federal capital territory (FCT) was 1,114.

From the NCDC’s report, 27 people were confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications in the last 24 hours bringing the nation’s fatality toll to 1,577 .

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 1,114 new cases of COVID-19.

The death toll recorded is the highest single-day count in more than seven months.

Lagos state still remains the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria, claiming 408 cases from the total number while it was followed by FCT which recorded 95. Legit.ng gathered that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria is 128,674. A total number of 102,780 patients have been discharged.
