Murphy Afolabi, a Nollywood star exhibited his movie dexterity in the Yoruba arm of the movie coordinating body. The 49-year-old actor died of a head injury and passed away on May 14, 2023, making him the third actor to die within a week in the film industry.
He is one of the top Yoruba on-screen characters, Murphy as he is fondly called was a filmmaker, producer, and director, the on-screen character was an indigene of Osogbo, and he attended Iree Polytechnic.
Records revealed that he began acting at an extremely youthful age when he was first featured in the film titled Ifa Olokun under the auspices of ‘Daguro Alakija Ogun’. He is known for his magnificent conveyance and understanding of the Yoruba contents. He has featured in over 60 films, this skilled entertainer has attracted a few awards before his demise, his honors include best on-screen character of the year among others.
He was buried at his Ikorodu house located at Owoniboys, Mopelufa, by Aleke Bus Stop, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, amid a crowd of mourning friends, family, and sympathizers.
Murphy Afolabi celebrated his 49th birthday few days ago.
