Divine Foresight Academy, Khafiffat Win Olota All Secondary School Football Cup Competition
Divine Foresight Academy and Khafifat Secondary School, both at Ota Ogun state have won at the finals of the 2023 Olota Cup All Secondary Schools Male/Female Football Competition.
Divine Foresight Academy took first position in the male category, beating Upright Foundation College, Otta, while Khafifat Secondary School came out first in the female category of the competition. .
The match ended 2-nil in favour of Divine Foresight Academy after an incredible contest, delivering one of the all-time great finals to cap a wonderful tournament.
Throughout the match duration, the teams showcased outstanding performances on the field, to the admiration of the spectators.
Speaking shortly after the match, His Majesty, Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland, Awori Kingdom, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) commended the MD/CEO of Travellers Magazine, Mr Olaniyi Akinbode for organizing the event.
The first class monarch equally commended all the participating Secondary Schools in Ado-Odo/Ota for the successful outing.
Kabiyesi equally urged students to ensure that they exhibit good character at all times, and to build on the friendship made during the encounter in achieving a better society
Eminent personalities present were; Executive Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Musa, Kabiyesi Onikotun of Otun Otta, Oba Akeem Odunaro, Kabiyesi Alatan of Atan Otta-Elect, Oba Akinyemi Isiyemi, Balogun Otta, High Chief Isiaka Idowu Balogun, Odota of Otta, High Chief Oladele Adeniji, Aare Atunluse of Aworiland, Aare (Surv.) Segun Osifeso fnis, Agba Akin Otta, Chief Olajide Adeniji , MD/CEO Hardej Pharmacy and SY &TEEs Supermarket Mr & Mrs Adejuwon , DOP sango ota, Nigeria Navy , Civil Defense, Trace , Frsc, Amotekun, So Safe Bank and many other important figure.
Oba Obalanlege presented the trophy to the Divine Foresight College which is the first winner while the chairman of Ado-O do Ota – Engr sheriff Adewale presented the trophy to the second winner, Upright Academy.
Aare( Dr) Segun Osifeso made trophy presentation to the first female winners, khalifat College, while CEO Hardej Pharmacy Shola Adejuwon made presentation to the second female position: Divine foresight college.
Appreciating supporters and sponsors, Mr Akinbode expressed gratitude to Alhaji sotayo aka (sholebo), Chairman Riders and Owners Motorcycle.( Romo), International Distilleries Limited (IDL), CWAY company, KPL company, Hardey pharmaceuticals, SY& TEE Supermarket, Ijamido Children’s Home, Ota amongst others.
Also Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof) Abdulkabir Obalanlege, Mr Adekola Alade Akofe Irawo Radio got different categories of awards.
Others are :Ultimate College. Ambassador of sports for Olota cup 2023, Khalifat college, Hardej Pharmaceuticals Company, Coach Olaseinde Bakonle, Comrade Sheriff Alabi and Oke Abayomi.
According to the organisers, registration for the second edition of the soccer competition will commence on the 17th Thursday, August, 2023 while the competition proper will hold January/February.2024.
