Nigerian celebrity music star, Iledare Oluwajuwonlo, popularly known as Jaywon, is a singer, songwriter, performer, producer and actor. He hails from Kogi State. He had his primary education at ECWA Primary School and had his secondary school education at the Government Secondary School, Kogi State.
The award-winning music star holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
The star boy took a few questions from CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS, Excerpts;

As a growing-up lad, what were your aspirations?
I have always wanted to be an actor and a musician, basically in the spotlight.
You have been absent from the music scene for a while; what could be responsible for this?
Oh really? Well, it’s called ‘family time’ I have been spending quality time with my family, and now I am back.
How many years did you spend with Kennis Music, and how will you describe those years?
I was with them for five impactful year, and they were helpful.
How did you arrive at the name Jaywon?
I got the name from my real name Juwon.
Which are your three hit songs, and how will you describe them?
This Year’, Aje, Saro. Some of my songs are evergreen.
What is the name of your soon-to-be rolled-out single that will scintillate your staunch fans?
My new single is out already, it’s titled ‘See Finish’ it is my first single for this year (2023), and it talks about trust; like the saying goes ‘A problem shared is a problem solved’ but this is not so anymore. The problem shared these days causes a ‘See Finish.’
How best can you describe the impact of the Internet on the music industry?
The internet is a game changer, it upturned the archaic ways things are been done, it helps with facts and figures; our knowledge base kept expanding.
What is your favourite song to perform anytime, anywhere, any day that will wao the audiences?
Anytime I sing ‘Facebook Love’ it changes the atmosphere of any event including: ‘Jawo Jawo’. But I don’t perform ‘Filebe’ and ‘Gbon Gbon’ because this generation doesn’t understand them, so they don’t flow with it.
Which musician will you want to collaborate with?
Black sheriff from Ghana.
What is the best advice you’ve been given, either by father or mother?
My mum said never stop working hard because it’s only a hardworking man that cannot be predicted or mocked in society, so if you don’t want to be a laughing stock, don’t give up on your dreams.
How do you handle female fan that wants relationships?
For the female fans, I don’t bring them close!
What is the secret of your ever-looking young?
I do everything in moderation, no too much smoke, food, alcohol, women, nightlife
What is your take on Nigerians seeking greener pastures in Europe?
Don’t stop seeking greener fields, some Americans go to other countries to work and earn a living, so for me, it’s okay just make sure the reasons for the greener pastures are achieved and ensure you don’t soil the name Nigeria nor embarrass yourself.
Nigeria as a country, what do you think is our problem, and how do you think we can fix or amend things?
Hypocrisy and Nepotism are our problems, once the man at the helm of affairs is from our tribe or family, we are good, until will let that go, we will remain a huge joke.
What are the challenges you face on your way to stardom?
Finance and not taking my time to learn more about the trade (music business) but now, I know better. only if I knew all these before, I would have been better.
Which sport is your best, and are you still very active on the pitch?
UFC, but right now I still play football.
Any plans to star in more movies?
Yes, I still want to act more in international movies.
