Controversial Singer Portable in police custody over Car Debt
The arrest of controversial music star Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has been captured in footage that is currently circulating on social media. In another video, Portable can be seen attempting to evade arrest by scaling over a fence, as the Lagos State Police Command sought to apprehend him.
The arrest was prompted by Portable’s failure to settle the debt he owed after purchasing a G-Wagon from a car dealer in Lagos. The vehicle is valued at N27m, and Portable had only paid N13m, refusing to pay the remaining N14m on the grounds that the car was faulty. The car dealer reported the matter to the police, who subsequently arrested Portable. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and stated that Portable had been placed in custody.
