Afam Chukwuma, the Deputy National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), has received the prestigious award for the Best West African Import & Export Logistics Provider of 2024 on behalf of his company, International Supply Chains Systems Limited.
The Managing Director of International Supply Chains Systems Limited was also recognised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) with the title of Ambassador of IAWPA. In a recent interview with Andrew Utulu, he expressed his gratitude, stating, “I was honoured by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), an organisation affiliated with the United Nations. This award acknowledges my efforts and contributions toward promoting peace within society.
I am truly pleased. I had no idea that my contributions to society were being recognised and appreciated. As I often emphasise, peace is essential in our lives; it serves as the foundation for growth and stability within a community.
Without peace, meaningful development is unattainable. In environments marked by chaos and conflict, progress is impossible. Therefore, it is crucial for us all to live in harmony and advocate for peace. This recognition as an eminent peace ambassador will inspire me to continue my efforts. I am filled with joy and gratitude, and I give thanks to God.”
Chief Chukwuma plays a significant role in the maritime industry and international trade logistics. His exceptional mediation skills have positively resolved numerous disputes within the port, consistently promoting peace and stability in the area. He was instrumental in addressing the tensions arising from the Nigeria Customs Service through the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and was among the few who remained steadfast during the Nigeria Ports Authority crisis, ensuring that the port remained operational and that businesses continued to thrive.
