OMOEKUN: Saheed Osupa, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma Are Pivotal In My Career

Emerging music sensation Sanni Abdulrasheed Adekunle, popularly known as Globalson Omo-Ekun, hails from the Ipokia Local Government Area in Ogun State. His educational journey began at Akojenu Nursery and Primary School, followed by Ilado Primary School in the Abule Egba region of Lagos State, and he completed his secondary education at Iworo Ajido Model College.

He aspires to pursue a degree in theatre arts upon his application to JAMB. Tragically, he experienced the loss of his father at a young age; however, this setback did not hinder his pursuit of his dreams. The family of his late father provided support to fill the void left by his passing, and his mother received assistance that enabled her to continue their journey.

Popularly known as Globalson, he embarked on his Fuji music career at an early age and has successfully blended Hip-Hop into his style. The young artist draws inspiration from both divine sources and his surroundings, citing influential figures such as King Saheed Osupa and Alhaji Wasiu Pasuma as pivotal in shaping his musical direction.

Globalson released his debut album in 2012, followed by a second album in 2015. Currently, he has approximately seven EPs that are performing well on various streaming platforms. In 2020, he launched a seven-track album and is diligently working on another seven-track project to delight his eager fans.

Recently, Sanni Abdulateef Adekunle Omo-Ekun Globalson engaged in a brief interview with CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS, from which the following excerpts are taken, enjoy the rest of the story;

Do you have intentions to partner with more prominent music artists?

The industry operates within a caucus of exclusive groups, necessitating membership in a specific group to facilitate a successful collaboration with a prominent music artist.

As an emerging music star with significant potential, do you have intentions to participate in Nollywood films?

I have written several stories previously, and I am confident that I will create a film in the future.

If I were to examine your phone’s playlist at this moment, which five artists would be ranked in the top five?

You will see; 2Baba, Dr Saheed Osupa, Alabi, Pasuma, 9ice, PSquare and Davido.

How was growing up like?

It was a challenging experience; I recall attending a performance when a brawl erupted, prompting my brother and I to flee for our safety, funny enough it was mid-night around Badagry round-about.

As an established artist, how do you manage the attention from female fans who express their admiration for you in an enthusiastic manner?

My fans are incredibly important to me; I truly cannot imagine my career flourishing without their support. Many of them struggle to manage their emotions when they encounter their favourite music artist. As an artist, I understand the necessity of handling such situations with care so as not to hurt anyone.

What do you want Nigerians to know about you?

I aspire for the entire world to recognize me as one of the premium songwriters in Nigeria, such that when my name is entered into Google, Globalson pops up.

Which of your songs do you believe stands out as the best, one that consistently prompts the audience to demand additional performances whenever you sing it?

All of my songs are performing exceptionally, and every one I have performed consistently elicits enthusiastic reactions from my audience.

How did your parents respond when you embarked on your music career?

I was young when my dad died, so my younger brother and I grew up with our mum, I began to work on the  songs when my mum wasn’t around, upon her return, I relayed it to her, she said: “Can you truly accomplish this?” She then bestowed her blessings upon me.
