(Video) Awosika Hanah Taiwo: Exotic wine extends life span

According to Time.com, in the 1990s, some researchers observed that French people tended to have low rates of heart disease, and the researchers speculated that regular wine consumption might be, protecting their hearts from disease.
In the 2000s, evidence began to pile up tying, Mediterranean-style eating and drinking patterns with longer lifespans. One component of these diets that got a lot of attention was the consumption of wine, especially red wine.
Even among people who ate healthy diets, those who also drank wine regularly and in moderate amounts—a glass or two a day, usually red and usually with meals—lived longer than heavier or lighter drinkers.
Concerning Beer, the most common alcoholic drink is loaded with antioxidants called phenols. These protect you against heart disease. Beer also lowers the risk of acquiring high blood pressure and helps to maintain it.
These led CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS to Awosika Hanah Taiwo, who hails from Ondo State, Ondo West LGA, to be precise.
The single but not searching young lady took a few questions from CREEKVIBES and also talked about how far she has come concerning her career cum wine business.
The shrewd entrepreneur who resides in Lagos attended two primary schools: Mate Nursery and Primary School, Ketu Mile 12, and Folusho Nursery and Primary school.
Unfortunately, her auto dealer father died, and her mother had no choice but to move her and her other siblings out of Lagos State.
Ekiti State became her aboard, where she attended Community Grammer School, Aramokon Ekiti State, and proceeded to the College of Health Science, and Technology in her state of origin. She studied and graduated as a Community Health Officer with a license.
Centre of Excellence beckons, and she obliges. Now she runs a wine store alongside a parcel delivering services outlet. For Taiwo, her unquenchable thirst for quantitative education led her to Lagos State University, Ojo Campus. She is studying Health Education and she is about to round up a B.Sc programme.

No knowledge is a waste; way back in 2008, little Taiwo, in Ekiti, her homestead learned the trade of wine from her mother, who sells wine on the sidekick after returning from her teaching job.
She was saddled with the sales and monitoring of the wine bar whenever her mother is indisposed or out, to tend to social functions.
The ebullient health officer became acquainted with exotic wines; little did she know that she will run a wine bar.

It will surprise you that she is the CEO of a popular wine shop known as Stars And Stripes Wine Shop, otherwise known as ‘CEO’ around Vulcanizer area of Akowonjo, Egbeda, Lagos.
Her foray into the exotic drink business started over three years ago when she quit her job as a nurse at Holyfield Medical Centre within Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy a few questions answered by the CEO.
As a staff Nurse, can you share an experience that shocks you?
There is nothing that shocks me, when I was in the college of health, occasionally every three-month, they post us to different medical centres to broaden our knowledge on practical studies, on one of the occasions, I was posted to a mortuary, so I have seen several cases like; where someone dies, so it is not a new thing to me.
Will you want to own a hospital in the future, going by your experience in the health sector?
I will want to, but due to how our country runs the health sector, I mean as in, the payment of health workers is not encouraging, and that is why we experience brain drain in that sector, I may decide not to.
It was gathered that those that sell wine out there sometimes buy fake wines and mix them with what they sell; how can you clear the air on these?
Yeah, we all know that there are fake wines out there, and people do patronize them even though they know that it is a fake wine, sometimes the security agents know these; but they can’t make arrests.

As a business person, I think your integrity is what should be paramount. If a customer bought a bottle of Hennessey from you and he did not come back, you should do a proper investigation, if you are selling right or not.
I have a lot of customers that do patronize me, customers come back from time to time, my locality, Vulcaniser in Akowonjo, just mention CEO, you will be taken to my outlet. The name CEO has overshadowed the real name of my store, which is Stars And Stripes Wine Shop.
How did you come about the name CEO?

When I newly started my wine business, people saw how much strength and dedication I put in, and they started to call me the CEO, and every other person follow-suit.
My customers know that, I don’t sell fake wines, everybody on this street patronizes me, and I have never disappointed them in all my dealings.
I source my wines from genuine dealers.
What’ll you want Nigerians to know about you?
I want Nigerians to know that I am an entrepreneur who sells wine, I buy quality wine from the source, and they are all affordable.
