Nollywood budding kid actress, Rita Ugba, is an amazing kid actress currently rocking the screens with her well-nurtured talents.

The Benue State-born kid-actress juxtaposes her acting career and her studies despite being a teenager in Senior Secondary School 1 (SSS1).

The versatile teenage actress relentlessly works hard to meet up with her dancing classes, modeling auditions and her studies.

She is a multi-talented up-coming teenage actress, a rare breed who assimilates faster than her peers, she is always not too comfortable with her peer group and hence craves for the engagement of higher class challenges.

She acted alongside Shewa Akindele, Georgina Ibeh and other notable Nigerian top Nollywood actors, she displayed her gallantry on the set of the movie titled; ‘Love Never Ends.’ She was on the set of ‘God Why Me’, ‘Vision Twitter’, and ‘Mine Is Not Real.’

Rita’s mother who is undisputedly behind her success story said;  “On many occasions, I have had to excuse her from her classes to take some acting roles in movie locations, many at times she played a major role, excusing her from school wasn’t too comfortable for me.”

She acted as her mother’s daughter with other girls on the set of; ‘God Why Me’, the flick revealed moments her mother was maltreated because she had given birth to female children alone.

Immediately she called it a wrap on one of Georgina Ibeh’s movies, roles started rolling in for the go-getter teenage actress, but the brilliant and beautiful mother hen curtailed the roles for her to focus on her studies which she considered paramount.

The 5.9ft tall took a few questions from CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS.

Excerpts;

How old are you?

I am 14 years old.

How did you come about your comedy/acting ideas; who nurture you into it?

My mum nurtured me because she is already in the industry, she acts, directs and produces movies; she is also into the comedy stuff.

What is the best gift you have ever been given?

Rita Comedy 2 Sm

An iPhone.

Who bought it?

My mum.

Can you take a scripted snake role?

I am not that scared of snakes.

What if you were called upon?

(Mother interjects) I won’t let her!

Your mummy said, she won’t allow you to take such a delicate role.

Mother why?

They should go away with their money, because at the moment there is no insurance in Nollywood, and there is no provision for First Aid, or probably a stand-by doctor, should anything go wrong antivenom will be applied immediately. If necessary measures are taken into consideration I will be more comforting to oblige her.

(Mother) Has she gone out of the country to express her acting skills?

Not yet but soon.

(Mother) What do you want Nigerians to know about your daughter?

She is a brilliant actress that Nigerians should watch out for. She is coming out very strong.

For the children watching you at home, what advice do you have for them?

They should always follow their dreams, they should not feel like they can’t achieve what others are achieving even if, they are not from a rich family.

(Mother) Which course will she want to study at the university?

(Mother) Medicine preferably, she does not know what the future holds, but she wants to have a credible certificate that will not have any inclination with Theatre Art or Mass Comm.

(Mother) Can she be allowed to take movie roles during the weekends?

(Mother) Movies can’t be done during the weekends, the camping; scripting, and others take a whole lot.

(Mother) How do you balance her studies with location tidings?

Rita Comedy 3 Sm

(Mother) My daughter’s secondary education is the foundation of everything, so I don’t want anything to derail her from her studies. She is open for movie roles during long-term holidays, and she does dancing and skit-making during short holidays.

What are the three things you can’t do without?

My mum, my Family, and my passion for acting

Favourite food?

Friend Rice and Chicken.
