Portable Is No Match To Davido

By Clementina Olomu
David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, extended an invitation to Portable for dinner during his visit to America for a performance, showcasing his role as one of Portable’s destiny helpers. Davido, who values everyone regardless of their background or status, did not hesitate to offer assistance to Portable in his quest to win 10 Grammy awards in one night and secure a record deal with Sony Music. Recognizing Portable’s potential, Davido advised him to explore opportunities with smaller labels for greater success.
This advice was given considering Portable’s musical career, attitude, education, exposure, and mindset. Davido understands the need for Portable to improve and guided him towards the right direction for growth.
Instead of expressing gratitude towards his helper, Portable chose to use Davido as a platform to announce his ambitions to the world, hoping to attract Sony Music’s attention through social media.
It is important to note that Portable fails to recognize the standards set by major recording labels such as Sony Music. These labels are global companies with a reputation to uphold.
Portable’s outburst against Davido will not garner any interest from these labels, both now and in the future. Becoming a superstar requires more than what Portable displayed in his criticism of Davido, and resorting to desperation and blackmail will not lead to global success.
Davido, on the other hand, is a renowned singer, songwriter, and record producer who has made a name for himself in the global music industry. He is also one of the youngest individuals to receive the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award in Nigeria.
I hope that Portable realizes the consequences of publicly criticizing Davido and accusing him of only associating with people who benefit him. It would be unfortunate if Portable realizes this too late, as Davido has never benefited from Portable and is unlikely to seek any favours from him.
It is clear that Portable has made a mistake by forgetting that his opportunities and success were not solely based on his own merit or status.
In conclusion, this is my perspective on the Davido and Portable saga.
