Faith Paul Onahi J.: A Journey of Grace, Purpose, Passion

For many people, discovering their life’s purpose takes years of uncertainty, unexpected detours, and moments of deep reflection. For Faith Paul Onahi J, every chapter of her life—from childhood dreams to personal challenges, from comedy skits to Nollywood, and from humanitarian service to eye health advocacy—has been a testament to resilience, faith, and divine direction.
Her journey into entertainment began in 2021 when she featured in comedy skits with content creators such as Mog Akpors, King Kris Comedy, Oga Street, Oyiko Comedy, Viralshoot TV, and Oyiza Comedy. These experiences helped build her confidence and prepared her for a career in film.
The talented thespian, who took on a leading role in films such as Arigisegi, Office Mistress, and The Donor, among others, made a courageous choice to dedicate herself to acting full-time in 2023, following a pivotal moment in her personal life. Each of these experiences has fortified her resilience and enriched her faith. Additionally, she has played sub-lead and supporting roles in several films, including, Peer Pressure Unreal, The Lottery, and Compound Wahala. Furthermore, she is the producer of Arigisegi and has co-produced other films in collaboration with Moon-Elites.
Her major breakthrough came in December 2024 when she met Opeyemi John during a movie production in Abeokuta. Soon after, she appeared in a promotional video for MoonDewTV, which caught the attention of the company’s CEO and opened the door to greater opportunities. In January 2025, she joined a MoonDewTV production and was later appointed Secretary of the Moon-Elites, a position she served while continuing to grow as an actress.
Beyond acting, Faith is passionate about giving back through eye health advocacy. She is currently giving back to the society through Gifted Hands Eye Care Foundation and Charity, including Feandbox Foundation for Charity and Life Preservation; touching more lives through free eye care outreaches, awareness campaigns and access to quality eye care for less privileged communities.

Creekvibes Outstanding Actress of The Year 2026, Faith describes her journey as one defined by God’s grace. As she continues to grow in Nollywood and humanitarian service, took six questions from CREEKVIBES Daniel Ekiye. Excerpts;
How has your personal background and upbringing influenced your acting career and your relationship with other individuals?
My journey has instilled in me the value of perseverance. No one introduced me to this industry or propelled my career forward. I lacked a mentor to guide me or family connections to facilitate my entry. Instead, I consistently showed up, dedicated myself to hard work, focused on self-improvement, and placed my trust in God. The path has not been straightforward. I have faced disappointments, financial hardships, and moments of uncertainty regarding where my next opportunity would arise. These experiences have fortified my resilience and taught me that success is not solely determined by one’s connections; often, it hinges on consistency, preparation, and divine grace. Through everything I have endured, I have gained a deeper understanding of the struggles faced by others. I strive to refrain from judging anyone, as everyone is engaged in battles that may remain unseen. Furthermore, these experiences have imparted to me the importance of respecting every role on set, as each opportunity is indeed a privilege.
How do you stay grounded and connected to your roots and community, despite your high-profile status?
My belief in God serves as my foundation. Regardless of how far I advance in my career, I always remember my beginnings and the numerous obstacles I have had to surmount. I did not enter this field through connections or any form of privilege; my path has been characterized by grace, consistency, and perseverance. These experiences serve as a reminder to remain humble, continue learning, and treat everyone with dignity. I also hold the conviction of giving back whenever possible, supporting emerging talents, and utilizing my narrative to motivate those who may be encountering similar challenges. In addition to acting, participating in eye care outreach programs is another avenue through which I maintain my connection to the community. Witnessing individuals regain clearer vision and hope reinforces my belief that true success is gauged not solely by personal achievements but also by the positive influence we have on others’ lives. For me, success transcends mere recognition; it is about staying authentic to myself, my principles, and the purpose bestowed upon me by God.
Can you share a moment when you faced a major setback or failure in your career, and how you managed to overcome it?
I have faced numerous setbacks, ranging from financial hardships to times when opportunities were scarce. There were moments when I doubted whether I was on the correct path, yet I remained resolute in my decision not to give up. Prior to fully committing to acting, I ventured into various opportunities, including managing a hotel and lounge business. Reflecting on my journey today, I am convinced that each experience was a preparation for my current position. Additionally, I have faced significant health issues, such as an enlarged liver, a complex appendicitis surgery, and a recent illness that nearly claimed my life. More recently, an accident served as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility. Throughout every trial, I have been sustained by God’s grace. These experiences have fortified my resolve, imparted wisdom, and heightened my determination to succeed. Today, whenever I confront obstacles, I remind myself that having survived those challenging times, I am capable of overcoming whatever lies ahead.
Can you name few movies that got your best?
I would assert that Osuntomiwa presented the greatest challenge for me, as it was an extraordinary film filled with profound Yoruba dialogue and proverbs. Being someone who is not of Yoruba descent, it compelled me to step outside my comfort zone and facilitated my development as an actress. This marked my second foray into epic cinema, and I took pride in the significant progress I had made in comparison to my initial epic experience. Another project that truly showcased my abilities was Ahamo Aiye, where I was tasked with performing scenes that involved incantations and required intense, emotional expressions. This role demanded a considerable amount of focus, self-assurance, and commitment, as it was entirely contrary to my natural disposition. Additionally, I found great enjoyment in my role in Office Mistress, where I portrayed a supporting character. Each project I have had the honor of participating in has played a role in my development, but these films, among others, have uniquely challenged me and enabled me to uncover strengths I was previously unaware of.
Where will you be in another five years?
In the upcoming five years, I envision myself as one of Africa’s esteemed actresses, producers, and storytellers, whose work resonates with audiences globally. I aspire to create more impactful films, mentor emerging talents, establish platforms that generate opportunities for others, and utilize my voice to advocate for eye health and initiatives that enhance lives.
In addition to acting and filmmaking, I aim to broaden the influence of the Gifted Hands Eye Care Foundation and the Feandbox Foundation, focusing on charity and life preservation.
My goal is to reach more individuals through free eye care outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and ensuring access to quality eye care for underserved communities. Furthermore, I foresee myself collaborating with international filmmakers, receiving prestigious awards, generating employment opportunities through my productions, and leaving a legacy that motivates people to believe that with faith, dedication, and perseverance, no dream is unattainable. More than seeking fame, I desire my career to create a lasting impact, both on-screen and off.
What is your biggest and weirdest fear?
My greatest fear is failing to achieve the purpose for which God created me. I strive to lead a life that has a significant impact and embodies the reason I believe God placed me in this world. Regarding my more unusual fears, I have a genuine terrified of snakes, dogs, cockroaches, and even live chickens. People often find amusement in my reactions, yet these fears are very real to me. If I encounter any of these creatures unexpectedly, my immediate instinct is to flee.
